Assistant Professor
Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT)
I work on system design and signal processing in dense, non-terrestrial wireless networks, addressing localization and sensing challenges.
Bio
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) at KU Leuven, within the WaveCore division. My research focuses on signal processing in non-terrestrial networks for joint communication and localization, and on sustainable Internet of Things (IoT). I (co)supervise several national and international research projects in these areas.
I obtained my PhD in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven in 2020. After my PhD, I received a KU Leuven postdoctoral mandate, followed by a three-year FWO postdoctoral fellowship beginning in 2021. From September 2022 to February 2023, I was a Fulbright visiting researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Before joining KU Leuven, I completed an MSc in Electrical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2013 and a BSc in Electrical Engineering at the Islamic University of Gaza in 2011.
